Let’s Talk ‘People’

Last holiday season, we met some remarkable people. Although it was not on our original itinerary, we went to Madame Tussaud’s in NYC. We had some time to kill, and had to choose between the museum of waxworks or Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum.

ImageNo one believes me when I say this, I have met seen and heard the Dalai Lama. When I was in high school, my mother took me to one of his talks. I was so surprised and completely swept away by his simplicity. His English was broken, but his communication was fluent. I vaguely remember the topic being non-violence, Buddhism and Ghandian philosophy. Hearing people like the Dalai Lama voice their thoughts will always be an enriching experience.

A walk through Madame Tussaud’s is a great way to pass a few hours, but NYC has so much to offer that it can be easily given a miss.
